where the familiar shifts
LinesFromNoWhere is a small ink drawing practice.
The work consists of original black and white ink drawings, reproduced as fine art prints.
The drawings explore the limits of perception, the unconscious, and structures of attention and awareness. They are rooted in observation of the surrounding world, in what is present but often overlooked or assumed.
I am drawn to the place where the familiar shifts and something else might emerge.
The name is inspired by the utopia News from Nowhere (1890) by William Morris. Here a life is imagined, where we take our time and find pleasure in the things we create.
In my practice, this means slow and deliberate creation, where the process is given as much attention as the final result.
This approach also reflects the business-part of things, prioritizing sustainability, high quality, and conscious production over speed and volume.
